Moorgate Moorgate is the terminus of the Northern City Line in London, a line which is effectively a tube line, except operated by main line rail trains and operators. It's underground and in London anyway. Moorgate used to be a terminus for Thameslink trains, and the one time I was there I saw a Class 317 parked in the Thameslink platform, which was very recently disused. Only Class 313s can use the main line station, due to the tunnel diameters, and it's down a nasty spiral staircase from the tube station. There are no amenities, and an annoying person over the PA telling you not to take photos. Still, for some reason I quite liked Moorgate - possibly it was a bit of romance for my first solo trip in to London, possibly I liked how they had planned another station on the line but that realised that by the time the train had arrived at the proposed station it wouldn't have actually left Moorgate. Whatever, services are provided solely by First Capital Connect trains on the Hertford Loop Line, and the station has no amenities whatsoever. But still...
