Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare station, the third station to hold that title, sites on a single-track diversion off the main Bristol to Taunton line. I learnt bay parking in its car park when I was learning to drive, and have twice returned by choice to look at it. The nine times I travelled to/from it it wasn't by choice but because I had a jobseekers' course to attend, and it was easier to go by train than try and find somewhere to park. The station is open-access with a staffed ticket office/waiting room. Most services are operated by First Great Western, namely a service to and from Bristol Parkway and through trains between Cardiff Central and Taunton/Paignton, with morning HSTs stopping on their way to Paddington and evening ones terminating or stopping on their way south. CrossCountry also serves the station with Penzance/Plymouth to Manchester/Edinburgh services.
