Nottingham

Nottingham is the station closest to my university residence, and as such is the station I use for any trips to anywhere. Not that I've gone anywhere other than home yet. It is served mainly by East Midlands Trains, with CrossCountry services to Cardiff and Northern services to Leeds. The ticket barrier staff seem generally unwilling to let trainspotters through, but relent if you buy a ticket to Beeston, which is about £2. The upside is that the station is well-equipped with a WH Smiths and a coffee stand, although said coffee stand's seating area is below an area of extreme pigeon activity.
