Guildford

Guildford is a major junction station on the Portsmouth Direct Line, connecting with the North Downs and New Guildford lines to Reading and London respectively. I've only been there once, when I went for a job interview (failed). I remember liking how colourful all the trains were, what with South West Trains's red 455s and blue 450s, and being amazed how long the trains were - twelve car services to London seemed standard, when you don't get anything longer than eight carriages on trains into London from the South West. Most services are on the London Waterloo route, with regular First Great Western Thames Valley services and occasional CrossCountry and Southern services. It serves a decent Cornish pasty.
