Cardiff Bay

Last update: 21st April 2010

Cardiff Bay is the terminus of the single-track Butetown Line which runs from Cardiff Queen Street. Arriva Trains Wales operates a shuttle service on the line, usually using a Class 121 "heritage" DMU, but which was replaced when I visited by a 143 (typical) and, I assume, is also occasionally replaced by 142s. The station building is falling apart at the seams, so the platform seems to be now trying to pretend it has nothing to do with it. The platform however is boring. Luckily it's close to Cardiff Bay, which is interesting.
