October 2008. I was unemployed, having graduated some four months earlier, and I had just had my first visit to the job centre. I felt as if I'd signed my life away to be a shelf-stacker for the rest of time. I decided I needed cheering up, and so, since I'd been working on Wikimedia Commons photos of Bristol recently, I decided to go and take a few snaps of places I knew we needed photos of - namely Clifton Down, Redland and Montpelier stations on the Severn Beach Line. Over the months, station-photographing turned in to trainspotting, and since then I've been hooked.
