NeVeron christMas raffle 2007

As you may know, every Christmas the Neveron players organise a raffle. They donate stuff to it, and then it all gets raffled off to whoever happens to be around at the time. This year, I've been organising it, along with ShadowMasterCM. The rules are as follows:

Anyone may donate a prize, but you do not have to donate to be included in the raffle. However, donators will be automatically included in the prize draw, even if they are not in the raffle channel.

The raffle will be held at roughly 1 minute past midnight GMT on the 25th December. To enter, you need to be in #Neveron_Holiday_Raffle. That's it. You can be idle if you want. If you're sleeping, or otherwise engaged, just leave your PC and you can win a prize. From the number of prizes available so far, you're probably guaranteed at least one.

Winners will be drawn at random from a combined list of all people in channel and all people who donated items to the raffle. You will then be excluded from all subsequent draws until everyone has won once, at which point the list will be reset. The winner will be decided by use of mattbot3, however we reserve the right to intervene to correct errors should they occur.

Anyone attempting to cheat the system by any method will have all their prizes withdrawn and re-raffled.

Winners are responsible for contacting the donator of their prize, not the other way round.

It is expected that most transfers of prizes will follow the following procedure: a TA will be given between donator and winner, stuff will be sold as cheaply as possible, and the donator will send back all cash he receives from the sale via general transfer or other convenient method. Please note that this means the winner will be effectively be paying the NASI sales tax, unless negotiated otherwise.

If the winner is too poor or low level to accept the entire prize in one go, it is expected that the donator will give the prize a bit at a time.

If prizes unavoidably go missing before they can be transferred (eg mines expiring, salvage disappearing, etc) then the donator does not have to find a replacement prize.

Oh, and Kato has offered to send cash to any newbie of level 5 or below who attends.

DISCLAIMER: We are assuming the honesty of all people who donated, in that we assume they donated things that they own. If this is not the case, then our apologies, but you'll have to take it up with the people who donated originally. We are not making any money from this, and cannot be held responsible for someone else's dishonesty.

RESULTS:

The approximate value of the prizes was somewhere in the region of $36,000,000,000: over 200 prizes donated by about 60 people, and won by nearly 100. The list of winners can be downloaded in either .TXT or .XLS format.
