Neveron
Rogues Gallery
For years we have played
Neveron (well I have anyway), but without really seeing our enemies as humans.
We only ever see them as empires in the war log, or names in IRC chat. Over the
years, various people have attempted to create a player gallery, and I am the
latest.
This page has 59 profiles,
and was last updated on the 22nd March 2010.

Arkidda |
 |
Arkidda came to Neveron in 2004, and joined the faction MOUSE under the
leadership of Takira. He was an astute learner, reading public mail
and forming an opinion that HoC were bad. He then found out that
MOUSE was an HoC training faction. He transferred to the Riders of
Armageddon [RoA] faction, before being integrated into HoC proper.
He was briefly a member of Clan Frozen Chosen, but went fully into HoC at
the end of the Clan/HoC war.
Arkidda is perhaps best known for running the faction Hot Pocket Cult [HpC],
dedicated to his favourite snack. He is also known for being a
#neveron op, after Michael Klien declared in 2006 "what the heck, you
don't cause problems". |

Aschmo first played Nev back in 2000, and liked it so much it delayed him
moving from Windows to Linux. When he finally did ditch Windows, he
spent several months trying to make Internet explorer work, but to no
avail, and quit the game. He was back in 2006, and joined Legion,
and later Bad Boys. He remains a small fish by choice, and is a
well-liked voice in Legion. |

Aussie, everyone's favourite Aussie (unless you prefer Xeno or Fernando I
suppose), started playing Nev in 2003, and has been with FWLM for his
entire time, although he recently also joined Havok's Harrassers. He
was given the empire Hussars Reborn by gravity{FWLM} in 2004, and ascended
to leadership of FWLM in 2005, a position he held until 2007 when
succeeded by Crazy Saint. He is well known as an op in #neveron, a
position he has held since 2005, and is widely regarded as someone who is
fair to all, regardless of partisanship.
He
lists the most interesting thing he has done on Neveron as giving a level
5 empire to Hoppy, who got it deleted within a week. |

Ben Holland |
 |
Ben Holland first
played Neveron in early 2006, but gave up after his empire was destroyed.
He was back later that year however, when Arden invited him to join the
nascent SLDF. Despite being a relative newbie, he has since become a
respected op in #neveron. He built up a well known level 7 - 189th
Chimera Corps - from the ground up, but was never active enough on the war
log to make it a truly fearsome empire. He joined the ranks of HoC
in mid-2007, but with the destruction of his level 7 empire took a scaled
back role in Neveron. He does however continue to be active in chat
and can often be found helping out at chat events.

Bettmaehn |

Bettmaehn
joined Neveron in 2004, and as is somewhat customary for Germans on
Neveron, joined DEST and Ryuken. He was well known for coming to the
rescue of friends in trouble, even at cost to himself, and was a major
headache for HoC empires. Possibly the best example of his
selflessness was when he hotdropped his mechs onto Fernando's DP empire
The Art of War. Although the attack was a failure (not helped by
bugs), and spelled the end of Bettmaehn's main activity on Neveron,
it showed his admirable courage. He is remembered by his alliance
mates as both a brilliant pilot and a reckless fighter, and above all, a
great player.

buc` joined Neveron in
2003, having been invited to join CapCon by real life friend
ThorazenMcKenna, and rose to become second in command of the faction
Capellan Confederation - Sarna March. However, it was then that HoC
ordered CapCon to disband or be destroyed, and CC-SM became a Genyosha
faction. buc` quit, giving his empires to rmanrr, but changed his
mind and was back a few weeks later, having been given the empire
Imperial Elite by Oden, and left CC-SM to join the faction Genyosha
Prime. There he stayed, gradually extending his tentacles and
getting to know people in HoC, until he eventually found himself as a
trusted member of HoC and temporary FL of KK{HoC} while
Kato was in Iraq. Nowadays he is a senior member of the Neveron
community, and is known to be trustworthy and honourable.

later when his empire was hit hard and declared unrepairable. Having
taken a year off, he came back and has been here ever since. His
brother, Aidan (aka Pillager) also played Nev, and gave Chaos his empire

Chet |
 |
Chet, also known as
Chetter, Chetterbear or Chester LaPointe, was probably Neveron's best
known player, more so even than the legends of Nimon, Pimp and Madman.
He is known for creating the Word of Blake, the most homoerotic alliance
ever to surrender on Neveron, and for his frequent drunken antics in chat.
He served as Primus of WoB for much of his time on Neveron, and later as
Demi-Precentor under his successors.
Chet was also well
known for hosting NevCon New Hampshire every year around Christmas. |

DT (the left one in the

several other friends, and is the only one left. He was a member of
UDC back in the day, and eventually rose to the status of Faction Leader
of 2Legion when his level 7+ empires were merged into a single level 10.
He developed quite a skill at landwar, both low level with Minas Tirith
and Isengard, and high level defensive wars - it was his level 8 empire
Sphere which destroyed most of Drey's level 9's DP mechs, and his
level 10 which caused Drey to self-surrender.
Over the years he has
provided invaluable advice as one of Legion's leaders, and his excellent
piloting has ensured victory in many landwars by ÐÐ and their allies.

Dee |
 |
Although Dee first started playing Neveron back in 2003, he remained
largely unknown until 2005, when he sent his first nevmail. After that, it
didn't take long for him to get kicked out of AMI for vehement
disagreements with KOOLAID and Logres. He
joined Legion in July 2005, and became a permanent fixture of chat a few
months later. His renown as a low-level landwarrer became second
only to his renown as an utter freak of nature. His insanity seemed
to know no bounds, and I for one was very glad to have him in Legion - I
do not ever want to be on the opposite side of a conflict from him.
Possibly his greatest moment was when he created a trap for empires
attacking his, and then tested it on his own empire, ending up headcapping
two negative gun pilots.
As a
Legion member, Dee rose to a state of moderate power, although he was
banned from doing any negotiating. That has not stopped his
warmongering in ÐÐ though, where almost every war was started by Dee,
including an abortive attempt to take on SLDF. Throughout this time
he learnt about high level war, and how to better smash stuff. More
of his insanity can be seen in
~dball. |

Delta Leader was first brought into Neveron by Spectre, and joined the

before returning in 2006 and joining Legion, where he developed a
reputation as a good low-level landwarrer, and a good person to have

Lionheart's new alliance House Liao where he proved to be an able and

Fang, also known as Cheezits or NewBlood, first came to Nev in late 2003,
and joined Rox's MAFIA faction, although he soon left to join Clan Blood
Spirit. In September 2004 though, he left due to arguments with
another member. His joining Otomo sparked a brief war between CBS
and HoC after Dracs, a CBS member, called for a Trial of Annihilation
against Fang's empire, White Fang. Fang joined Genyosha, only
to have it summarily disband, and later became a member of both the 12th
Vegan Rangers and the Capellan Confederation. Nowadays, he
constrains himself to low level empires.

Frui
started out in Riders of the Apocalypse, he went on to co-found the 12th
Vegan Rangers with XIBIOUS. He was recruited into HoC by Jimbob in 2004,
and changed his name to HLC, an alias he continued to use until 2007.
His empire, Krych, was a deadly mid-level landwar empire. He became
one of the leaders in HoC when he briefly took over Chaos2
from Mantis while Kato was in serving in Iraq.
He participated in many major conflicts, personally piloting the mechs
which secured a foothold in Highland Glucksburg's core, and is renowned as
a superb tactician as well as an honourable player who is willing to
negotiate a mech battle to decide a war.
Although Krych no longer exists, he still excels at mid-range warfare with
the empire Krych Revisited, which had previously belonged to
both mattbuck and Celt. He is mentioned in the HoC
archive in a story about Kato's return - a band of mechs come home, with
such evocative names as "King of Pain", "Storm Giant" and "Deliverance".
Then comes HLC in a mech called "Fruitloop". |

Gobi |
 |
Gobi joined Neveron in
late 2005, and to start with lived a fairly quiet life, occasionally
duelling. He joined Legion in early 2006, and started warring with
his empires Gobi, Son of Gobi, and Alfie. Over that year he became a
trusted member of Legion, but no more so than most. That changed in
January 2007 when Tigre quit and gifted The Red Legion to him,
making him faction leader of the largest Legion faction. He lived up
to the responsibility Tigre had held, and has kept TRL intact and fighting
though several FWARs and numerous attempts to gangbang it into submission.
Gobi also joined ÐÐ in
early 2007, and later acquired the legendary landwar empire The
Church of John, using it to full effect on many enemies, and
eventually merging it to become even more fearsome. His son, Alfie
(pictured) pilots one of CoJ's GRF-DESTs, an achievement only eclipsed by
Patryn's son who piloted a Stone Rhino. |

Havok |
 |
Havok is one of Nev's best known players, running the faction Havok's
Harrassers. He has known great acclaim for his skill as a pilot and
a strategist, and also great disrespect for his funding of Hoppy, possibly
the only player to eclipse the hatred directed towards Randy.
Havok's Harrassers was founded before Neveron began, and has its roots in
MechWarrior 3 games played among a group of friends, who then recreated
their alliance on Neveron.
Unfortunately, Havok has often found himself at the centre of controversy
on Neveron, but rarely through any action of his own, and he has proven
himself capable of making balanced decisions even against a background of
emnity with HoC. He was even a #neveron op for a while.
Nowadays, as well as running HH, he is a strategist for Clan Wolf and the
greater anti-HoC forces. His preferred style of landwar is to use
large numbers of middling market mechs - Hunchbacks, Centurions, cheap
Warhammers, etc., as this is more fun than using a few DP mechs and
worrying about every headshot. |

Hydro first found Nev at the age of 13 while browsing on a library computer, and was so hooked
that even though he didn't have a home computer, and so couldn't use chat or forums, he kept
returning over the next eight years, creating an empire, building up and then dying again. He
finally made his way into chat in 2010, and joined LA. His favourite nev memory is of attacking
a level one empire with his newbie jeeps and destroying much larger units in a trail of destruction
that led to his empire swiftly attaining level three.

Jake
joined Neveron in the summer of 2002 after a trip from Europe. His initial
pursuits involved the Word of Blake under the direction of Chester
LaPointe. After being enlightened by the brighter side of Neveron, he then
joined the German faction of Alpard Federation where the trouble began. Jake has been blamed for some of the worst deeds and exploits in the game
to date. Several of the numerous exploits include: the scrapping of Dutchy
of Small (facilitated with the help of Dragion and Zap); becoming
an op in #neveron under the guise of Denikin; the level 0 raider called Planck
is a Sally; and the infamous bug which resulted in a level 11 and a level
9 being nuked
and his quitting the game. Other exploits for which Jake takes credit for are not part
of the public record but had no doubt influenced this game beyond the
sphere of a single player.
Jake
returned in 2007 and is to this day is continuing his efforts to reshape the
face of Neveron with the development of a new warring strategy which
exploits the current FWAR system. |

Kato |
 |
Kato, it could be said, is Marmite for
Neveron. Anyone who's pro-HoC loves him, and most anti-HoC seem to hate
him. He started playing Nev in 2001 at the end of the Star League
war, and in 2003 (along with Gunner, Dragion, Pimp
and Shaitan) was one of the leading members of the HoC reformation
following Sly's departure. He achieved dubious fame when his faction Kommando
Korps{HoC} was the first ever target of a factionwar.
Since 2005, Kato has
been an outspoken critic of the changes to Neveron wrought by Randy, and
was one of the proponents to the DP embargo when random factionwars were
introduced. He has also been a major critic of the bad blood that
has emerged within the community, and is insistent that players from all
sides take responsibility for their own actions rather than claiming the
game forced them to do it.
Of course, Kato's
magnum opus on Neveron, apart from hosting this website, is the HoC
Archive (buy it or
download it), a
complete history of HoC and its members, which has inspired copycat
movements among DEST, HL and Legion to name but three.

KD |
 |
KD (or KingDiamond) has long been one of
the premier figures on the Neveron duelling circuit, and has developed
quite a reputation for fighting in ridiculously high rep units, but always
being a gentleman and subtracting init. His attitudes towards
one-on-one war originated in the old Kizo, and he says that continuing
support for such ideals is Nimon's true legacy. Indeed, KD has been one of
the great proponents of sportsmanship on Neveron, and is always willing to
fight a fixed BV battle to decide a landwar. This has sometimes cost him,
and people have tried to cheat him, but he has always stuck to his guns
and fought on regardless. He is in fact the friendly,

Kelly has always been
in the background helping to run factions. He was brought into
Neveron by liber in the faction AEoN, and was known for his way of
throwing himself in the path of bigger empires to save factionmates.
He was on the losing side of every war he was in, but would battleplay for
hours in an attempt to do something. He finally broke his streak of
losses by sacrificing his empire against Clan Frozen Chosen in a trial to
stop the war. He won the trial, thus resulting in a tie.
Kelly returned recently and joined the Lyran Alliance in an empire which
refused to delete after over a year of inactivity.

Lionheart |
 |
Lionheart started
playing Neveron almost as soon as it started, having been dragged into Neveron by Wesley, his
high school friend, following him through all his alliance
creating escapades. When Wesley left the game for good, Lionheart ended
up in AMI:RIS and JSDC-DC. The AMI:RIS FL proved to be incompetent to the
point that LH decided to make his own independent faction, House Liao, and
was joined by several other people from AMI:RIS. Fate struck in his
favour when LIFE announced it was disbanding only hours after LH’s
decision, shortly followed by the Lyran Alliance FL deleting. The
rush of dispossessed empires went to HL, and Lionheart suddenly found
himself the head of an alliance. Thus far, HL has prospered under LH’s
leadership, growing quickly. Lionheart himself is known for his less
than tactful diplomacy, random FWARs and a third way mentality. |

Maghetti |
 |
Maghetti is not a lucky player, and of all the players on Nev, he probably
has more reason to have a grudge against HoC than any other. He started
out in 2001 when he was what he calls a "super noob". He joined HoC, but
made a comment about "wanting to kill an HoC empire but couldn't because
he'd joined HoC" which got him kicked out and Dragion hired as a merc to
kill him. He took his empire to the Capellan Confederation, who were wiped
out a few weeks later by HoC. He found himself in WoB and Demolay
Core, the latter of which was then forced to join Kizo. Kizo were
subsequently destroyed (by HoC), and Mags found himself with only WoB to
call home. A few years after, he bought a level 12 empire with Lumpy
and a few others, and reformed the Neveron Commonwealth, which he now
runs.
HoC
haven't been the only people who have hurt Mags though. His ally
Sand allegedly stole 1st NC from him, and he was forced to buy it back.
Sand later unclaimed the walls surrounding Something Very Weird's mechzone,
allowing Malachi to kill almost its entire
mechforce.
Outside of being somewhat of a cosmic joke, Maghetti has somehow attained
op status in #neveron where his innuendo fills many a heart with terror,
and makes Cambone check the locks on the doors. |

Malachi |
 |
Malachi joined Nev in
2003 in a little faction called BURAKI, which means "idiots" in Polish. He
learnt to landwar under the guidance of Padlina, and in turn hosted
Padlina in his field in 2004. He quickly became one of the most feared
warriors on Neveron, and rose to a position of power within UDC. He joined
with Lucifer to do up an empire, Apocalyptic Prophets, but
was subsequently a victim of the
hacks on
Nev perpetrated by Jake in 2005. After
NevCon UK
he inherited a level 5 empire with a Stone Rhino, which in time became
Suitably Violent Empire, a quite ridiculous empire, and quite suitably
violent. He was a founding member of Vicious Intentions, and then moved
onto ÐÐ, where he was one of the primary instigators of any and every
fight. He became de facto leader of HoC in 2007 and was instrumental in
the destruction of several major headache empires, including ones
belonging to Macca, Sand and Maghetti.

Mantis, otherwise known
as Rantamplan, started playing Nev back in 2002, and after two months
fought his first landwar, losing his mech but taking the enemy's city.
He joined HoC in 2004, having been recruited by Dogmatic, and for a while,
things were good. He became known as a great tactician, having done
sterling work defending DBF from Kizo and various HoC empires from
pirates, as well as coordinating a faction-wide blitzkrieg. He
became a faction leader when Kato was deployed to
Iraq, a job which he kept until he announced his retirement in 2006,
having found a new job. Luckily for Neveron though, he stayed around
long enough to read the messages of good will left for him in public mail,
and reversed his decision to quit, realising that Neveron had become more
than just a game to him - to this day his opening line in chat is "hello
family".

mattbuck |
 |
mattbuck first joined
Neveron in 2003 after being told about the game by
Malachi. He joined Kizo OP10 under the leadership of Tigre, and
stayed with them when they became Legion. He also joined UDC, but
left when they became formally allied with HoC, taking his UDC empires to
-DB- in time for the Clan assault on HoC, then finally moved them all into
Legion. Over the years he became one of the leaders of Legion, and warred
extensively with his low level empires Platonian Empire Beta, Delta, and
Tau Archipelagos, gaining 100 rep BJ-1DB and CRK-5003-0s along the way,
the former only eclipsed by KD's. Having become
agitated by the lack of level 5 targets for Delta, he joined ÐÐ, and
eventually Tau joined too. When Tigre quit during the Legion vs
FC:HAHA war, mattbuck inherited the leadership of Legion.
mattbuck is perhaps
best known for his work for the Neveron community - he is a longtime
helper in #neveron_newbies, a sometime op of #neveron, and coded a series
of IRC bots with functions including the calculation of battlevalues. His
third such bot,
mattbot3
eventually was voted most helpful player on Neveron. He has also created
various Excel spreadsheets, and is currently involved in creating a page
for player pictures. In 2008 he became one of the first player admins.
However, it was only a few months later that he quit the game, saying that
it had become a chore to play rather than something enjoyable.

However, when CM became involved in the Cult vs Clan Frozen Chosen war, he
moved to the IZW LW Academy, where he first became chat active.
Moving to IZW-2, he enjoyed low level landwar under DuckieHO, and
controlled LW empires in both DEST and Bad Boys. In 2005, he took
control of Overkill's Ha-Zard Empire, which was FL of IZW-8, and set about
overhauling the faction. When Zan retired as IZW
leader, Menelaus assisted new leaders sdog and
nicklamer. IZW-8 was later fwared by HH-2, but the reorganisation of the faction paid off, and with help
from mercenaries, HH-2 were defeated. With more and more IZW
quitting, Menelaus finally joined them after being gangbanged by WoB in
early 2006.
Menelaus returned to Neveron
in 2008, and joined 3Legion (the last remnants of the old IZW) and DEST.

Between beating other

Murphy has been around Nev longer than
many care to remember, but only became a chat regular in 2005. When
he was level 3, he created a small band of warriors to kill Cletusfunk,
including one Pausanian Empire, who managed to attack the wrong way and
invade one of his allies. It was only years later Murphy discovered Pausanian
was the owner of Cletusfunk.
Murphy served his early time on Nev
with Clan Ghost Bear, but had to leave when it disbanded following Bearz
quitting. Along with a group of other CGB refugees, he joined FCE,
and later Legion.
In Legion, Murphy has
become a very useful player and generally a great guy to have around,
although he claims that all his wars follow a pattern of him getting his
arse kicked before someone else steps in to save him. That being
said, he did have the

tent cities, although he claims he just used it to best effect. In
his final year on Neveron, he became faction leader of IZW-6. He
will, however, be best remembered for his duelling - Beasts of Bogardia
was an elite duelling empire, and a more than capable landwar empire to
boot.
Perhaps his finest hour
though was in an FWAR against HoC, where he took his market lvl3, DoWed
and killed about 4 enemy level 3s, before being DoWed by several level 4s,
beating them, rinse and repeat at level 5. |

Proud |
 |
Proud is one of the best known of Neveron's German contingent, but it
almost was not to be. His first emperor was killed in a duel, which
then prevented him from logging in. It was only thanks to Ray,
designer of the TRT-RAY-4L, that Proud started playing, and that
Proud's Cave was born.
In
his time on Nev, Proud has achieved much. He started playing in a
time before factions, and has run his own faction, Rosa Armee Fraktion [JBO],
since they were first introduced, making it possibly the longest-enduring
single faction on Nev. He was also the first person ever to
buy a
nuke, following Zap's last order that "If anyone hits Clan Ice
Hellion or Group W, make them hurt". As The Pope, emperor of
The Vatican, he had the honour of killing Malachi's
500rep Stone Rhino, then the highest repped unit in the game.
Proud is much akin to Chet, in that he speaks neither
English nor German, but is instead the only speaker of his own dialect,
Proudisch. |

owned CJF's largest empire. He has also in his time been in FWLM, AMI and
the new SLDF.
Ravill's biggest claim to
fame is managing to lose Canaris's entire level 9 duelling stable in a

award. To this day Canaris refuses to let Ravill duel any mech in

OBA eventually became unF, Neveron's biggest faction, with weird's

purchased the empire Macca's Imperials for around £300, and
downsized it from lvl10 to lvl7 long enough to put it into the faction
before levelling back up.
weird is also known as the only person on Neveron ever to own an entire
continent - Neveron's southern is almost completely under his domain.
He lists that along with owning the largest empire in the game (DWG),
running the largest faction (unF), surrendering a lvl10 with his lvl8 and
surrendering a lvl11 inside eight hours as his proudest achievements on

wonko |
 |
wonko, named after
a character from Douglas Adams's So Long And Thanks For All The Fish,
first came to Nev in 2002 at the urging of Tobias Moon. He quickly
joined LIFE, then joined Tobias in AMI, where he became war marshal.
When LIFE disbanded, he moved all his empires into AMI, and, having become
less vehemently anti-HoC over time, joined SLDF and HoC when AMI started
to collapse.
wonko has been known as somewhat of a loose cannon, frequently attacking
allies and incurring the wrath of superiors. That being said, his
devotion to the game is unquestionable - he once ran his empires by phone
while in jail. |

Zan |
 |
Zan
is probably one of Neveron's longest-serving players, having played
(almost) continually since 2001. In his time he has led several
factions including GAF, FRIN and IZW, and has been a shadowy face in IRC
chat. Recently he has had little time for Nev, but still does the
occasional arena.
Zan
was also one of the main contributors to the genesis of the Shoki SK1-IZW. |
