IA Sucks

I liked Sam, but everyone had these. It was kinda fun until he left. For more, see the Put Down Emporium section of the archive.

Interstate 76 - No1

I used this sig for a while in one of my occasional resurgences into playing Interstate 76. I've had quite a few of those. At one stage I even created a website about it, but those Angelfire bastards....

Interstate '76

This was the 2nd of my I76 sigs, and maybe it was the start of what many have called my "random explosion/flames" obsession.

Detstar, ttf, sixWiNter and other sigs of my own making

Banner 1

This is the earliest sig I can find, and it's an altered version. the original version had none of the white lettering, as this was added only when I became TTF TWINE moderator, replacing WaveMan9. The girls are Holly Valance (left, Inside Sport) and Cat Deeley (right, FHM ). Don't bother trying to go to the website, Angelfire deleted it months ago.  The background is a random bit of work with Photostudio I did, and the theme continues.

This sig is the first I created for DSF , and is very like both the sigs preceding and following it. Once again, Holly Valance and Cat Deeley are present, with a Wing Commander ship. Also featuring is the Detstar logo.

Banner 3

This sig was the third I ever created myself. I don't know quite which version it is, but it shows my interests at the time. No matter what popular opinion may say, the FHM picture of Holly Valance (right) does NOT show a nipple; the other girl is Cat Deeley, in a shoot for Company magazine; and the ship is a Panther from Wing Commander: Prophecy

I introduced this sig at a time when the DSF image-size restriction had just come into effect, so the aspect ratio is very different to the previous one. It continues the rainbow dividers theme, and also gives continuity with the same picture of Holly Valance. The gun is a Fabrique National P90, one of the best SMGs ever created. In the top right is a bit of artwork I did, combining a picture of a Renault F1 car with the XP desktop Vortec Space. At the bottom right is an image that shows my new interest in gaming, through my Gamecube, and Super Smash Brothers Melee. Finally, at the middle bottom is a picture of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E. From TV series Star Trek. I have no idea why it took everyone months to notice it and conclude that I liked Star Trek...

This sig is certainly not my best (note the "cardboard cut-out" picture of Holly Valance from GQ magazine), however, It is certainly not my worst. The whole thing is a bit blurred, but the themes persist from the previous sig (P90, SSBM). The background is a long-exposure shot of streetlights on the M5 near Bristol.

Banner 6A

Banner 6a

This sig is the first I created in my 6th series. The series was created to take advantage of www.cgispy.com random images, but this idea was scrapped because of crap servers. The picture shows Holly Valance again (Inside Sport unpublished picture), joined by a French Mirage jetfighter. The background is a shot of reflections of streetlights off moving water in Bibury.

As above, with a different picture of Holly and the jet faded into a blurred background. This is the sig I eventually decided on for No6. I actually won an award for this sig at Q's Lab Forums, courtesy of Greg.

Holly again from GQ magazine (at Scorpio's request) and an RAF Harrier jumpjet. The characteristic orange of the previous sigs is gone now, replaced by more prominent jets, though it still lives on in negatived form as the text colour (by the way, do you know how difficult it is to get that black border on the text? It's one of the most aggravating bits of making the sig!). The aspect ratio of both this sig and 7B is different due to a misprint in the DSF FAQ which led me to believe that I could create much bigger sigs. However, it was a misprint and so it gets resized, but the true majesty of the sig could still be seen at both Qs Lab and DepotOps .

This is my favoured of the present 7 series. It has a Tornado jetfighter (using afterburners), and that unpublished pic of Holly from Inside Sport. The reflections now appear as the text colour. Such was the success of this banner that DetErest (webmaster, www.detstar.com) asked for a larger version of the picture of Holly. Of course, it all went balls-up when Terrorsim007 and Snake created a parody of it... screwed up my system of finding my last post as well. Meh.

This is my latest sig, and one of my better ones. It returns to the Series 6 aspect ratio very effectively. The pictures are of a Harrier turning (see Banner 7A), Holly Valance (from Arena Magazine), and a more-colourful-than-normal Detstar Forums background. As in Series 7, the dividers are blurred versions of relections of streetlamps on the water at Bibury, negatived for the top one.

A light redesign to cope with new size limits... 500*250... does ANYONE use 800*600???

Banner 9 - Detstar Version

Banner 9 - Detstar Version

Possibly the best sig I've ever made... I have no idea where the Holly picture came from, my best guess is that it's a promotional one for State of Mind. Once again, THEY ARE NOT FLAMES, just reflections off a stream. That's the right border, the text and the lines above the text. The lines, incidentally, are a variation on my desktop Technicolour Dreaming. I also created a christmas version (below).

Banner 9 - Digitalized Zone Version

Banner 9 - Digitalized Zone Version

Not as good as the Detstar version, but made at the same time for a different background, specifically that used at DZF. The Holly pic again is a promotional one for State of Mind, the blue is a negative of the reflections, and the reflections themselves are the text colour.

The background here uses my "fungus" wallpaper, with the text a negatived version of a different part of the image.

This was my final sig at Detstar, using my "Aorta" desktop as the background. The version below was created when I finally removed the 007 from my forum name.

I finally created a new sig, this time using my Strata desktop.
